I am a first-generation Greek-American, hailing from Philadelphia. Born to Greek immigrants, I was raised with strong values and faith. My life journey, filled with ups and downs, has taken me to unexpected places.
I am a proud mother, and consider my children my greatest achievement. A graduate of Temple University, my life experiences have taught me the importance of staying true to one's values.
I've lived the extremes of life, from rags to riches- and back again. Currently residing in Montgomery County, PA, I've recently shared my compelling story in my new book, The Queen of Linens, as a testament to female empowerment.
Introduces us to a young girl from Philadelphia, who is ambitious and full of dreams. Her life is a fusion of two worlds - the bustling cityscape of America and the historical richness of Greece, where she spent her childhood summers. However, her journey is far from smooth. The high expectations she sets for herself ultimately lead to a tragic series of events, causing panic and grief.
Her ambition, which initially fuels her, becomes her downfall. The relentless chase of her dreams blinds her to life's realities, resulting in a chain of unfortunate circumstances that shatter her world. Amidst the chaos and despair, she uncovers her true desires.

"The Queen of Linens (cleverly subtitled “A Greek Tragedy”) is Nakos’s memoir, sharing her real-life journey through uncharted domains, both physical and spiritual. Her story is a Greek tragedy in the classical sense, too—one where pride leads to falls and lessons are learned; one of rags to riches and riches to rags. She faces challenges to her ethics, and she confronts the failures and triumphs that come from both her own choices and the unpredictable whorl of the world around her."

"Facing challenges to her ethics, Nakos confronts the failures and triumphs that come from both her own choices and the unpredictable world around her. A proud mother, she speaks of her children as her greatest accomplishment. Her tumultuous path is a testament to the power of women’s resilience in the face of life’s storms— including those that start on the inside and work their way out into our lives. Readers will find an unvarnished voice in this memoir, as Nakos shares her unique Greek-American experience in her book and reminds us “that happiness can be achieved through commitment to walking the good path,” as noted in the book’s description."
